Portable Heart Rate Monitor
As part of a module, we had to design a portable heart rate monitor with additional design constraints and features. Worked on structural components as well as circuitry.

Monitor Design
The constraint given for the project was for it to be portable. Thus, our group decides to modify a travel pouch to utilise its low profile design to ensure that the monitor remains portable. Another design constraint given is for the heart rate monitor to display messages. As such our heart rate monitor is programmed to give warnings on the LCD screen if the wearer's heart rate is detected to be too high. A long wire was connected to the pulse sensor to allow it to be connected to the wear's near or forearm where the blood vessels are closer to the skin for easier pulse detection.
